My family hails from a town where no one dies of old age.
[at least, that’s what my grandfather made me believe]
Since moving twice from a small town in rural, Southern Brazil, my grandfather resorted to [somewhat imaginative] stories to keep his past alive.
How could I forget the barber who switched radio stations every time he nipped a single strand of hair? Or the cross-river, watermelon-carrying, swimming competition?
Turns out that while Grandpa was preserving his roots, he was also planting a few seeds [in my brain].
Story-telling. Left-field ideas. The fantastical.
Three decades later, these seeds have grown on to become a career. And today, I imagine worlds for brands and tell stories on their behalf.
The beauty of it all?
I still find time to remind him - a 96-year-old, Alzheimer’s patient - of how a good story is truly unforgettable.
